Cousins Christmas Craft


The first craft edition of my new blog – a momentous occasion!

When it comes to special occasion I am of the belief that nothing is nicer to receive than a handcrafted gift.  Sadly I cannot draw, paint, sculpt but I can try my hand at little craft projects.

This Christmas I tasked myself to make each member of my team in work a completely unique from the various craft supplies I have gathered.  My Mum has a whole room full of buttons, ribbons and fabrics so I endeavoured to be able to reuse these existing supplies.

The love, and life of Margie (1937 - 2019)

She stood at 4ft 7 and half, and always stopped to say hello to whoever was walking past her front door. I knew her for 25 years of my 29.   When I met her I knew her as the wee woman who lived next door that we all always liked, and that never changed.   She was loud and complained about other things being loud too – a ball bouncing against her wall, her dog yapping because he saw a cat beyond his reach.   You could always hear Margie before you seen her because she would shout at you to say hello. A straight-talker and as blunt as they come, Margie never hesitated to tell you what she thought.   My Mum has two friends saved as Margaret on her phone.   The first is Margie next door and the second a friend who lives in England.   On Christmas day 2018 Mum opened a present from English Margaret and sent her a text saying “Thank you for the thoughtful gift, I hope you have a lovely day.” A few days later Mum went to visit Margie at the hospital....

2020 – Half way checkpoint.

Half way through and how am I doing? Normally at this point I would have some checkpoints I have completed, some I have plans to do and others I just haven’t made enough effort to accomplish.   However, when a global health pandemic (COVID19) hits you gotta take some time to reassess. Visit at least 2 new countries My trip to Poland and musical cruise (stopping off in Belgium) have sadly been cancelled.   Its’ just not a safe time to travel and if I did I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the country properly.   This is on hold for now. Buy a house I have tried! I have put offers on a number of houses which have initiated a bidding war which brought the house to a high price I just couldn’t go higher than.   I am still on the lookout.
